CENTERVILLE — Southbound I-15 is down to one lane in Davis County Monday morning after a semitruck hit a hanging power line and crashed.
At 4:11 a.m. the semitruck hit a power line that was hanging down on I-15 near Parrish Lane, according to Utah Highway Patrol. The semi overturned and then crashed into the median, sending concrete into the northbound lanes.
The driver of the semitruck was taken to a local hospital with injuries that troopers described as minor.
The UHP said a power transformer blew and caused the live power line to fall across the I-15 freeway.
Several vehicles were damaged by the concrete. A Union Pacific train also hit the downed power line.
As of 8:20 a.m., three southbound lanes remained closed but the rest of the road in the area had reopened. The estimated clearance time is 9:30 a.m., the Utah Department of Transportation said.
