SALT LAKE CITY — Drivers going west on Interstate 80 may experience delays Thursday after a semitruck rolled and blocked lanes.
The Utah Highway Patrol said in a tweet Thursday morning that westbound lanes of I-80 will be diverted at the mouth of Parley’s Canyon to the I-215 east ramp. Drivers will be able to reenter I-80 after the short detour.
UHP Sgt. Cameron Roden told KSL.com that a semitruck hauling spools of metal rolled and was blocking the right lane. Two people were inside the semi, and one was taken to a nearby hospital.
As of 9:25 a.m., UHP estimated the roadway will be closed for roughly two hours.
